Suniṣaṇṇa (सुनिषण्ण) is another name for Suniṣaṇṇaka, which is a Sanskrit word referring to Marsilea quadrifolia and Marsilea minuta (white goose), both from the Marsileaceae family. Certain plant parts of Suniṣaṇṇaka are eaten as a vegetable (śāka), according to Caraka in his Carakasaṃhitā sūtrasthāna (chapter 27), a classical Āyurvedic work.
