Śubhastha (शुभस्थ) refers to “(that which is) rooted in meritorious actions”, according to the Tantrāloka 15.23c–24b.—Accordingly, “There are two types of Sādhakas. The one following the Śaiva dharma [i.e. Śivadharmī] is free of mundane [observances]. The lokadharmī Sādhaka is desirous of fruits, rooted in meritorious [i.e., śubhastha] [actions] and free of impure [actions]”.
