śōbhanī (शोभनी).—f (S) An auspicious name for gaurī or pārvatī. 2 A rōvaḷī or colander having a stripe or two of whitewash on the outer side and containing a light. Used on festal occasions (as of lagna, muñja &c.) 3 A covert term for a libidinous female, a wanton.
