Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationŚītabhānumat (शीतभानुमत्) refers to the “cool-rayed moon”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.5.2 (“The Prayer of the gods).—Accordingly, as the Gods eulogized Śiva: “[...] O bull-bannered deity, among rocks you are Śālagrāma; among the forms of worship you are Narmadā Liṅga. Among animals, you are the bull Nandīśvara, O lord Śiva. Among Vedic texts you are in the form of Upaniṣads; Among the sacrificers you are the cool-rayed moon (śītabhānumat). [...]”.
