Śiṣyapratiṣṭhā (शिष्यप्रतिष्ठा) refers to the “installation of a disciple”, according to the 12th-century Vajrāvalī of Abhayākaragupta.—Accordingly, “[...] and [the Ācārya] carries out also the installation of an image, etc., like the installation of a disciple (śiṣyapratiṣṭhā)”.
