(EI 23), mentioned along with devadāna and brahmadeya; a rent-free hold- ing in the possession of a śālā meaning an almshouse or a school. Note: śālā-bhoga is defined in the “Indian epigraphical glossary” as it can be found on ancient inscriptions commonly written in Sanskrit, Prakrit or Dravidian languages.
