Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationSatyagamya (सत्यगम्य) refers to “one who is knowable through the truth” and is used to describe Śiva, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.5.2 (“The Prayer of the gods).—Accordingly, as the Gods eulogized Śiva: “[...] Obeisance to Thee the glory-seated; to the Truthful, beloved of truth, to the truth. Obeisance to Thee knowable through the truth (satyagamya). Obeisance to Thee possessed of magic-power, obeisance to the lord of magic; Obeisance to Thee (knowable through the Vedas), to Brahman, to the one born of Brahmā. [...]”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences.
