Rasatattva (रसतत्त्व, “tast”):—One of the Thirty-six Tattvas, according to Śaiva doctrine. This is the thirtieth or seventh tattva (when counting in reverse). These primary principles (tattva) represent the different manifestations of Brahman (universal consciousness) which together form the basis of our experiences. The Rasa-tattva forms part of the group of twenty-four Aśuddha-tattvas, which together constitue the realm of Aśuddha-māyā. It also forms part of the sub-group named Tanmātra (‘senses’).
