Rājayogapada (राजयोगपद) refers to the “state of Samādhi”, according to the Haṭhapradīpikā of Svātmārāma: an influential 15th-century Sanskrit manual on Hatha-Yoga dealing with techniques to channel one’s vital energy.—Accordingly, “Samādhi is not accomplished without Haṭhayoga and Haṭhayoga is not accomplished without Samādhi. Therefore, [the Yogin] should practise both until the [final stage of Yoga called] Niṣpatti [is attained]. After stopping the breath by means of [one of] the retentions [taught earlier], the Yogin should make the mind unsupported [by sense objects]. Thus, by means of practice, he goes to the state of Samādhi (rājayogapada)”.
