Source: Google Books: Popular Hindi CinemaRaṅgapūjā (रङ्गपूजा) and pūrvaraṅga are general terms denoting a cluster of rites described in the Nāṭyaśāstra. Raṅgapūjā consisted of a complex series of rites, some of which could have begun days before the performance, while others would have taken place close to the beginning of the performance. They consisted of diversified pūjā practices addressing the gods depicted onstage.
