Source: Wisdom Library: Maha Prajnaparamita SastraPrasannendriya (प्रसन्नेन्द्रिय) is the name of a Bodhisattva Bhikṣu that lived during the time of Buddha Siṃhanādarāja according to the Mañjuśrī-avadāna. The Dharma teacher Prasannendriya, of frank and simple manner, had not renounced the things of the world (lokadharma) and did not distinguish good from evil. His disciples were intelligent (medhāvin), loved the Dharma and understood admirably the profound meaning (gambhīrārtha).
Mahayana (महायान, mahāyāna) is a major branch of Buddhism focusing on the path of a Bodhisattva (spiritual aspirants/ enlightened beings). Extant literature is vast and primarely composed in the Sanskrit language. There are many sūtras of which some of the earliest are the various Prajñāpāramitā sūtras.
