Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).

Source: What is India: Inscriptions of the ŚilāhārasNikumba is the name of a family mentioned in the “Tālale plates of Gaṇḍarāditya ”. Accordingly, “In the holy and illustrious family of Nikumba was born a man named Horima, who was fond of fame, who regarded religious merit as his wealth, who was well-known, and was the sun to the lotuses in the form of famous Jaina congregations”.
These copper plates (mentioning Nikumba) were discovered by Ramchandrarao Appaji while he was digging in a field at Tālale in the Kolhāpur District. It is dated Tuesday, the tenth tithi of the bright fortnight of Māgha in the expired year 1032 (Śaka), the cyclic year being Virodhin. It records the grants made by Gaṇḍarāditya.
