nālabandī (नालबंदी).—f ( P) The price of shoeing a horse. 2 The business or occupation of a nālabanda, horse-shoeing. 3 fig. The preparation of cavalry to take the field. 4 Stoppage from the monthly pay of public servants, in order the more effectually to control them. 5 A small advance of pay made to horse-soldiers on engaging them, or on dispatching them upon any service.
