Mayaṇasundarī (मयणसुन्दरी) is the wife of king Śrīpāla, according to a manuscript dealing with “Śrīpāla story and virtues of Siddhacakra worship”, which is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—Talking of these entities [i.e., navapada] implies telling the famous story of the leper king Śrīpāla and his faithful wife Mayaṇasundarī. She married him against the will of her father because she considered that this marriage was the result of her karma. Later on through worship of the Siddhacakra and āyambil fast she was able to cure her husband and all other lepers.
