Any general and great consternation and precipitate turning back and fleeing. Ex. vāgha pāhatāṃ gāyīñcēṃ mā0 jhālēṃ; cōra pāhatākṣaṇīṃ vāṭasarāñcēṃ mā0 jhālēṃ Also great commotion, agitation, botheration (whether of a multitude or of an individual).
