Father in law and commander in chief of Gajabahuka Gamani.

After Gajabahus death he became king of Ceylon and reigned for six years (196-202 A.C.).

He built seven viharas: Sejalaka, Gotapabbata, Dakapasana, Salipabbata, Tanaveli, Tobbalanagapabbata and Girihalika.

He was succeeded by his son Bhatika Tissa. Mv.xxxv.123ff.; xxxvi.1; MT.657; Dpv.xxii.15ff., 29.
