Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarLomādi (लोमादि).—A class of words headed by the word लोमन् (loman) to which the tad. affix, श (śa), in the sense 'possessed of' is added optionally along with the usual affix मत् (mat) (मतुप् (matup)); e.g. लोमशः, लोमवान्, रोमशः रोमवान् बभ्रुशः, हरिशः, कपिशः (lomaśaḥ, lomavān, romaśaḥ romavān babhruśaḥ, hariśaḥ, kapiśaḥ) etc. cf. Kas. on P. V.2.100.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
