Lokānuprekṣā (लोकानुप्रेक्षा) refers to “contemplation (of the nature) of the universe”, according to Pūjyapāda’s Sarvārthasiddhi.—Accordingly, “The structure of the universe has been described already. The universe is in the midst of non-universe space which is endless. The contemplation of the nature of the universe (lokānuprekṣātatsvabhāvānucintanaṃ lokānuprekṣā) develops true knowledge”.
