Lahsuvā in the Hindi language is another name forDigera muricata (Linn.) Mart. or “false amaranth”, possibly identified with Kuṇañjara, according to verse 5.90 of the 13th-century Raj Nighantu or Rājanighaṇṭu. The fifth chapter (parpaṭādi-varga) of this book enumerates sixty varieties of smaller plants (kṣudra-kṣupa). Other than the Hindi word Lahsuvā, there are more synonyms identified for this plant among which three are in Sanskrit.
