Kṛṣṇasamayavajra (कृष्णसमयवज्र) is the name of one of the several Vajrācāryas at Vikramaśīla .—In chapter 38 of his Rgya gar chos ’byung (“History of Buddhism in India”), Tāranātha includes several commentators on the Laghuśaṃvara, among ten persons [e.g., Kṛṣṇasamayavajra] whom he holds to have occupied the office of chief Vajrācārya at Vikramaśīla in rapid unbroken succession, and claims that Jayabhadra was the first of the ten.
