Itvara-parigṛhītā-gamana (इत्वर-परिगृहीता-गमन) refers to “intercourse with a woman temporarily taken to wife” and represents one of the transgressions (aticāra) of the Brahma-vrata (vow of celibacy).—This transgression has the characterof an aticāra, being both a bhaṅga because the kept woman, in the mind of her lover, has become his property and been assimilated to the status of a temporary wife, and yet not a bhaṅga since she will in fact revert to being a prostitute when her temporary contract expires (in his Yogaśāstra 3.94). Āśādhara (in his Sāgāra-dharmāmṛta 4.58). who calls this offence itvarikā-gamana, follows closely the explanations of Hemacandra but extends the meaning of itvarikā to include any woman who has become “ownerless” through the loss of her husband and who leads a disorderly life.

For Cāmuṇḍarāya (in his Caritrasāra), and presumably for the other Digambara authorities who distinguish this aticāra (viz., itvara-parigṛhītā-gamana) from the next (viz., aparigṛhītā-gamana), it refers simply to the frequentation of prostitutes.
