Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationDuṣṭasannidhi (दुष्टसन्निधि) refers to “approaching a defiled person”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.54 (“Description of the duties of the chaste wife”).—Accordingly, as a Brahmin lady said to Pārvatī: “[...] The chaste lady shall never take a higher seat never approach a defiled person (duṣṭasannidhi), never speak to her husband in agitation. She should avoid slanderous words, shun quarrels and shall not speak aloud or laugh in the presence of elders. [...]”.
