Caṅkili (சங்கிலி) noun < śṛṅkhalaā. [Malayalam: caṅkala.]

1. Chain, link; தொடர். சங்கிலிபோ லீர்ப்புண்டு [thodar. sangilipo lirppundu] (சேதுபுராணம் அகத். [sethupuranam agath.] 12).

2. Land-measuring chain, Gunter's chain 22 yards long; அளவுச் சங்கிலி. [alavus sangili.] (C. G.)

3. A superficial measure of dry land=3.64 acres; ஓர் நிலவளவு. [or nilavalavu.] (G. T n. D. I , 239).
