Cakrasvastika (चक्रस्वस्तिक):—The Sanskrit name for a classification of a ‘temple’, according to the Agnipurāṇa, featuring a list of 45 temple types. It is listed under the group named Triviṣṭapa, featuring octagonal-shaped temples. This list represents the classification of temples in North-India. The Vāstuśāstras (composed of vāstu, ‘building’ and śāstra, ‘instruction’) represent a Hindu branch of science dealing with architecture and construction.
