Tibetan Buddhism (Vajrayana or tantric Buddhism)
Source: MDPI Books: The Ocean of HeroesCakrasaṃvaratantra (चक्रसंवरतन्त्र) is the oldest scripture in the Saṃvara scriptural tradition (abbreviated to Cakrasaṃvara), also called Herukābhidhāna and Laghusaṃvara. The Cakrasaṃvaratantra was gradually composed between the late 8th and 10th century CE or between the late 9th and 10th century CE.
Tibetan Buddhism includes schools such as Nyingma, Kadampa, Kagyu and Gelug. Their primary canon of literature is divided in two broad categories: The Kangyur, which consists of Buddha’s words, and the Tengyur, which includes commentaries from various sources. Esotericism and tantra techniques (vajrayāna) are collected indepently.
General definition (in Buddhism)
Source: promienie.net: Niguma: Ladyo f IllusionCakrasaṃvaratantra (चक्रसंवरतन्त्र).—The Chakrasaṃvara Tantra is one of the major tantras in the division of what is now called “Mother Tantras” (ma rgyud) or Yoginī Tantras, within the broader category of highest yoga tantra. The socalled root tantra is said to be an appendix (uttaratantra) of a mythic root text that was an enormous work of one hundred thousand or even three hundred thousand verses, which, if true, makes the extant tantra a tiny fraction of the original.
