Bhartṛnindana (भर्तृनिन्दन) refers to “insult of one’s husband”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.33 (“The appeasement of Himavat”).—Accordingly, as Vasiṣṭha said to Himavat (Himācala): “[...] Pārvatī manifested herself in the splendours of the gods. After killing all the demons she granted riches and glory to the gods. In another Kalpa (kalpāntara) she was born of the womb of Dakṣa’s wife. Her name was Satī. She attained Śiva. Dakṣa gave her to Him. By her Yogic power she cast off her body on hearing about the insult to her husband (bhartṛnindana). She is now born of you in the womb of Menā. [...]”.
