Avaravarṇa (अवरवर्ण).—a. belonging to a low caste or tribe. (-rṇaḥ) 1 a Sūdra, a man of the fourth tribe.

2) the last or fourth tribe; स्पर्शेनावरवर्णजः (sparśenāvaravarṇajaḥ) (hanti) Manusmṛti 3.241. ब्राह्मणान् बाधमानं तु कामा- दवरवर्णजम् (brāhmaṇān bādhamānaṃ tu kāmā- davaravarṇajam) (hanyāt) 9.248.
