Source: Pali Kanon: Pali Proper NamesA general of the Vanga kings army, maternal cousin of Sihabahu, father of Vijaya. When Sihabahu left the lions den with his mother and sister they came across Anura who was ruling the border country. Later Anura married Sihabahus mother. Mv.vi.16-20; MT.246.
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
