Antarayati (अन्तरयति).—Den. P.

1) to cause to intervene, divert, put off; सर्वमेवान्यदन्तरयति (sarvamevānyadantarayati) K.338; भवतु तावदन्तरयामि (bhavatu tāvadantarayāmi) U. 6 well, I shall change the topic, divert the course of conversation.

2) To oppose, prevent; नैनमन्धकारराशिरन्तर- यति (nainamandhakārarāśirantara- yati) K.243.

3) To remove (to a distance), push after; भुवो बलैरन्तरयाम्बभूविरे (bhuvo balairantarayāmbabhūvire) Śiśupālavadha 12.29; सर्वानन्तरायानन्तरयन् (sarvānantarāyānantarayan) K.161; जलान्तराणीव महार्णवौघः शब्दान्तराण्यन्तरयाञ्चकार (jalāntarāṇīva mahārṇavaughaḥ śabdāntarāṇyantarayāñcakāra) Śiśupālavadha 3.24 drowned.
