ajahatsvārthalakṣaṇā (अजहत्स्वार्थलक्षणा) [or अजहल्लक्षणा, ajahallakṣaṇā].—f S (ajahat Not abandoning, & lakṣaṇā) A definition or description conveying a sense which, to be apprehended, demands the assumption of some manifest implication, whilst it retains its appropriate or verbal sense. Ex. bhālē ālē Spears are come--impliedly (the literal sense remaining), Spearmen are come. See fully under jahallakṣaṇā & jahada- jahallakṣaṇā.
