Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationAdhvaramaṇḍapa (अध्वरमण्डप) refers to a “sacrificial platform”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.2.34. Accordingly, as Brahmā narrated to Nārada:—“[...] When Vīrabhadra set off thus, bad omens were seen by Dakṣa and the Devas. [...] The wonderfully new sacrificial platform [viz., adhvaramaṇḍapa] erected by Dakṣa and the devas was thrown up by the winds”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences.
